Leonard designs the experience and then tries to break it, championing the user while keeping the platform bug-free. - Website: https://leonardluvuno.com/ - Email (fastest, replies within a day): hi@leonardluvuno.com - Phone: +27 67 937 2813 - Location: Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa - Book a call: https://calendar.google.com/calendar/appointments/schedules/AcZssZ2LeuPp1GfFLYsYh2D0Sk84O9VwRh6GPzCUsyc9qYguSjeM89fdjNyDxwJbda5CC_Itk9DHYHuc?gv=true - Portfolio (Behance): https://behance.leonardluvuno.com - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.leonardluvuno.com ## At a glance - 20+ UX/UI projects - 6+ years of service - 15 collaborations ## Services: two halves of one job ### 01 Design - **Design systems**: components, tokens and documentation teams actually use. - **End-to-end flows**: research, journeys, wireframes, high-fidelity prototypes. - **Workshop facilitation**: getting stakeholders to one decision, in one room. ### 02 Quality - **Manual testing**: walking every path a real user will take, before they do. - **Regression testing**: new release, old promises still kept. - **UX audits**: findings ranked by user cost, not by how easy they are to fix. ## Case studies ### Zapper: recurring payments Fintech · Mobile UX · February 2024. Client: Zapper.com. Role: UX Designer. Page: https://leonardluvuno.com/#/case/zapper A seamless way to automate subscriptions, memberships, instalments and donation cycles, without users ever losing sight of what they agreed to. **Brief.** Zapper wanted a recurring payments capability that felt effortless on the user's side while keeping full transparency, trust and control over ongoing payments. Leonard worked with Zapper's internal designer, You_Source's CEO and the development team to understand how the business wanted the feature to behave and what users needed in order to feel confident letting a payment run automatically. He shaped the whole journey (choosing a payment cycle, confirming billing details, and seeing exactly what was being agreed to) with equal focus on management, so users can pause or cancel a recurring payment without stress or confusion. **Process.** 01 Discovery: stakeholder sessions with the client designer, CEO and developers to map constraints. 02 Problem definition: automation is only acceptable when it stays visible. 03 Wireframes: cycle selection, billing confirmation and an explicit agreement summary. 04 Prototype: a clickable flow covering setup, management, pause and cancel. **Outcome.** A clear, intuitive flow that fitted naturally into Zapper's existing ecosystem. The feature never launched because the client's priorities shifted, but the work showed Leonard can navigate a complex environment, work across teams and deliver something polished and scalable. ### SARS app landing page redesign Self-directed · Mobile app · Government. Focus: usability. Role: UX Designer. Page: https://leonardluvuno.com/#/case/sars The original screen of the South African Revenue Service app offered users everything at once. Leonard rebuilt the landing page around the handful of services people actually come for. **Brief.** The original design presented too many options upfront, increasing cognitive load and making navigation inefficient. The goal was to simplify the experience: streamline access to frequently used services, improve the visual hierarchy and address usability issues inside the authentication flow. Through UX research and design he identified the key pain points, then restructured the landing page so the primary tasks read first and everything else moved one level down. **Process.** 01 Audit: catalogued every entry point on the original landing page. 02 Research: identified the tasks users repeat and the ones they never touch. 03 Restructure: rebuilt the hierarchy around frequently used services. 04 Auth flow: fixed the usability issues blocking sign-in. **Outcome.** A landing page with a clear hierarchy, a shorter path to the most-used services, and an authentication flow that stops asking users to guess. ### Yebo Fresh E-commerce · End-to-end UX. Client: Yebo Fresh. Scope: research to UI. Role: UX Designer. Page: https://leonardluvuno.com/#/case/yebo An end-to-end UX project creating a fresh, intuitive experience for a South African (township) grocery delivery service. **Brief.** Yebo Fresh needed a shopping experience that worked for customers ordering groceries in bulk, often on modest devices and data. The project ran end to end: research, information architecture, flows, wireframes and final interface, focused on making the catalogue legible and the basket honest (clear pricing, clear quantities, no surprises at checkout). **Process.** 01 Research: how customers actually shop and re-order. 02 Architecture: reorganised the catalogue around real shopping baskets. 03 Wireframes: flows for browse, basket and checkout. 04 Interface: a fresh visual layer built for low-end devices. **Outcome.** A complete UX and UI direction: a simplified catalogue, a basket users can trust, and a checkout that holds up on a slow connection. ## Skills and tools - Figma: design system expert - Adobe XD: prototyping - FigJam: workshop facilitation - HTML & CSS: frontend foundations - Photography: visual storytelling - Photoshop: image editing - Illustrator: vector graphics - AI tools: future-forward design ## About Six years of UX and over a decade behind a camera. Both taught the same thing: composition is a decision about what someone sees first. Leonard brings a human-centered approach to both pixels and people: designing with heart, testing with logic, and evolving with AI. ## Contact Open to product design and QA roles.
